Artist's Comments

This girl was created for a club promo poster. To be honest, I really wish I'd had more time to finish her off properly - the shading on her face in particular is a bit shoddy, and I'd have loved to have been able to refine it more. But, of course, deadlines are dealines. *wry smile*

I'd love to do more steampunk-inspired work in the future, though, so maybe this is a warm-up piece. ^^

haha wings, mech arms and corsettry always seem to be in steampunk somehow?
Lovely picture.
Most steampunker things sem to be big beefy guys with coal fueled arms but you have made her all feminine and delicate which is cool.
Check out liquid aviation in gallery tis quite steampunk.

Well, I figured as it was for a poster it's good to go with the most recognisable Steampunk elements - although I did forget to give her goggles. :)

Thanks! And I'll check it out, cheers.

No it can miss the goggles, tis perfect!

'tis quite a lovely piece. I love the delicacy of her mechanical arm. More people should do work on the finer side of steampunk instead of focusing on smoke bleching steampowered mecha and the like.

Thank-you! I suspect people work on the larger scale because tiny little gears are so fiddly! *laughs* But I'm really glad I did them.
:iconarabel:
Honestly, there should be more refined scoundrels in the world full stop. :)

great design, and great pose/angle. I love that elbow joint!
